To Kill a Roadrunner – Dead Deer

To Kill a Roadrunner

Where did the roadrunner run before roads? Has our petrol fuelled obsession really provided a natural habitat? Is life better, easier, for this flightless bird now, with cars, with the roads on which to run?

It seems unlikely. The climate is changing, species are becoming extinct. Extracting and burning fossil fuels, we know, is the major contributory factor. Wile E. Coyote wised up. He knew what to do. It may seem that the Roadrunner would be delighted by the increased opportunity for running, and maybe he was. The law of induced demand, however, led to ever more vehicles, cars, trucks, buses, bellowing out vicious earth-choking waste, all day every day.

So Wile E. Coyote final ‘got his man’. The Roadrunner is no more

Wile E. Coyote joined the roads lobby.
