The Hitchhikers Guide to Uranus

And so Uranus beget Saturn, and Saturn beget Jupiter, one generation handing on to a larger descendant, each looking further back, out into the darkness, to witness their lesser forebearer.

The inky blackness of space does not allow for true reproduction, these fanciful names handed to solid entities, direct from invented deities. The human capacity for invention and for discovery, a thirst for meaning and a thirst for knowledge married forever, high in the dark sky.

Hitch a ride on a thought. Are we, here on Earth, alone? Is there no-one, nothing, out there? There are only two possible answers to this question; both of which are terrifying.
